Callaway Staffer Danny Willett continued his resurgence this week with a win at the premier event on the European Tour, the BMW Championship at Wentworth.
Danny Willett shot a final round 67 en route to victory in front of a hometown at the European Tour's flagship event. Highlighted by his performance with his putter, the Englishman tallied twenty four birdies and an eagle and closed out the BMW Championship by three strokes.
The 2016 Masters Champion was rolling it well all week using his Odyssey Stroke Lab Tuttle and finished the tournament third in putts per green in regulation and sixth in putts per round. Danny has been using the Tuttle since last year and he trusted it to win in Dubai in 2018. His gamer features our innovative multi-material Stroke Lab Shaft that’s designed to improve tempo and consistency throughout the stroke and the three lines on the putter head help to improve alignment. Willett has said of his putter, “I didn’t have to try to improve my stroke. The Stroke Lab did it for me.” Stroke Lab has helped Odyssey dominate the putter count at the BMW PGA Championship this week, with 50% of the putters in play, and Odyssey is the #1 Putter on every major Tour in 2019.
Willett has been a longtime staffer and he’s used our drivers and irons during the biggest wins of his career, including the 2016 Masters and the 2018 DP World Tour Championship. Danny was impeccable tee to green, averaging 297.4 yards per drive and leading the field in greens in regulation. This win is yet another marquee victory for Callaway, the #1 Driver Brand (by far) across the major worldwide Tours in 2019. Willett has continued to play a Chrome Soft X Golf Ball on Tour. He adds his name to the list of players, such as Phil Mickelson, Xander Schauffele, and Francesco Molinari, that have won in 2019 using Chrome Soft X.
This marks back to back wins for Callaway Staffers on the European Tour and continued dominance for Odyssey across worldwide tours.
